West Brom host Arsenal in Saturday’s early kick-off, with both sides looking to recover from turbulent spells in the Premier League. Arsenal have made their worst start to a campaign in 32 years, and travel to the Hawthorns on the back of two consecutive league defeats. Despite this, Wednesday’s victory over Borussia Dortmund – a win which sealed the Gunners’ passage into the knock-out phase of the Champions League – should give the squad a boost as they look to atone for recent poor form.

Albion also enter the game having lost their last league two games and, more worryingly, have failed to find the back of the net since Saido Berahino’s 90th-minute penalty salvaged a point against Crystal Palace in October. Esteban Cambiasso’s own-goal handed the Baggies victory in the following game at Leicester, but the lack of goalscoring opportunities will be an issue manager Alan Irvine will look to address after defeats to Newcastle and Chelsea.

Saido Berahino is available to play despite the revelations surrounding his arrest for alleged drink-driving. Saido Berahino was last player to score for West Brom in October James Morrison is struggling with a sickness bug and is a major doubt for the Baggies. Sebastien Pocognoli is hoping to overcome a slight hamstring niggle but Jonas Olsson’s Achilles injury rules him out. Claudio Yacob starts a three-game ban after he was sent off at Stamford Bridge.

Arsene Wenger takes a depleted squad to the Hawthorns, with Danny Welbeck doubtful due to a swollen knee and a hamstring problem. Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and striker Yaya Sanogo will have their respective hip and hamstring injuries assessed prior to the game.

Olivier Giroud could return to the starting line-up having been ineligible for the midweek Champions League game, while long-term absentee Laurent Koscielny is set to return. A calf injury ensures captain Mikel Arteta definitely misses the game, as too does Jack Wilshere’s ankle injury, with the midfielder set for three months of recovery after surgery. Theo Walcott (groin), Mesut Ozil (knee), Mathieu Debuchy (ankle), goalkeeper David Ospina (thigh) and Abou Diaby (calf) are all still unavailable for the Gunners.
