Please help my pensioner dad get Chrome back!

Wasn't sure where to post this, but General will probs get most answers!

A few weeks ago, my 84 year old dad downloaded some software. He didn't see the bit that said "do you want to install Bing as your browser", so he didn't uncheck the box.
Bing has since taken over his laptop and he's very frustrated, as he wants Chrome back.

Bing of course does NOT show up on any add/remove progs. Tried the one on his Windows 7, as well as CCleaner and ASC. Not a sign of it.
I've tried googling how to remove Bing, but none of the suggestions I found helped.
Yes. we have tried resetting Chrome as default browser, but there is no option to do that - just fukkin Bing!

Giant on here suggested emailing my dad the downloaded Chrome file , which he did. But after installing Chrome from my file, up comes Bing again and takes it over!

I'm thinking he will have to go into his C/programme files and physically delete Bing and his existing Chrome files?
Then try my downloaded Chrome file again from my email?
I honestly don't know anything about Windows 7, as I upgraded direct from XP to Windows 8.

PLEASE could some kind soul come up with a "completely remove Bing from Windows7 for Idiots" step by step instructions the old duffer can follow?

Any other suggestions, gratefully accepted, as Dad is driving me mad ATM :)
Thanks in advance......
