Darron Gibson is in contention to face Lille after Roberto Martinez declared him fully fit on Wednesday.
The Irish international missed last weekend's visit of Swansea City after picking up a training ground knock but could return to make his third Europa League appearance of the campaign.
Antolin Alcaraz, who dislocated a shoulder joint against the Swans, joins John Stones (ankle), Kevin Mirallas (hamstring), Bryan Oviedo (leg) and Arouna Kone (knee) on the Blues' road to recovery.
FORM
Lille have slipped to 12th in their domestic league after four defeats in their last six games.
Since our goalless draw in France, Les Dogues have picked up one point from two outings, suffering a 2-0 defeat against Rennes before being held to a 1-1 draw at home by St Etienne.
Four wins in their opening six games had represented a decent start to the campaign for the French outfit, though they have since fallen 12 points behind leaders Marseille.
Three successive draws in the Europa League mean - like Everton - Rene Girard's men are unbeaten in Group H. They currently lie third in the standings, two points below the Toffees and one below Wolfsburg.
One To Watch: Rio Mavuba:
Captaining Lille from the heart of midfield, hardman Mavuba has become a firm fans favourite since his move to northern France in 2008.
Having started his career at Bordeaux, the now 30-year-old had a short spell at Spanish side Villarreal before joining Les Drogues, helping them deliver a league and cup double in 2010/11.
Mavuba, born on board a boat in international waters during a period of Angolan Civil War - was selected to represent France at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil and made one appearance in a 3-0 win over Honduras.
