Manchester United vs Real Madrid [Int'l Champions Cup]

State of play: As Group A leaders, United will qualify for Monday's International Champions Cup final in Miami with any but a defeat in normal time. Meanwhile, Real Madrid's loss to Roma on Tuesday means they are already out of the competition.

The opposition Los Blancos are one of the world’s most powerful footballing institutions and, with a record 10 European Cups, there are seldom other clubs who can compete with Madrid’s global prowess. Founded in 1902, their origin goes back to the introduction of football to Madrid by a group of academics known as Institución libre de enseñanza. Within three years of the club’s establishment, Real scooped their first title (the Campeonato Centro) and set a precedent for what was to become an illustrious history.

Perhaps the most iconic meeting between the sides came en-route to United winning their first European Cup in 1968 when the Matt Busby's heroes earned a 4-3 aggregate success in the semi-finals.

However, the Portuguese legend is not the only dangerman in Real' squad with the likes of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez all lining up in attack for the Spanish giants.
