TEAM NEWS
Newcastle United are likely to again be without striker Loic Remy and defender Mathieu Debuchy, who both missed Saturday's win against Crystal Palace.
Remy has an ankle problem, while Debuchy is out with a groin injury.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has said defender Phil Jagielka is "medically fully fit" after a hamstring injury and could return to the side.
Steven Pienaar is sidelined with a knee problem and is expected to remain so until mid-April.
MATCH PREVIEW
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has his heart set on a late push for the Champions League this season, qualification for which he has said would be "progress" from his first season in charge at Goodison Park.
They have a decent chance too. With nine games remaining they are sixth - in a Europa League spot - and only eight points shy of the ultimate ambition of Europe's premier prize.
It must be difficult. I cannot even think how you can cope with that frustration of not being able to help the team and trying to read the game from the sideline - Roberto Martinez on Alan Pardew's stadium ban
If they are to achieve that feat their away form must improve. It is five games since their last success on the road - although that run includes trips to to Tottenham, Chelsea and rivals Liverpool.
"When you have to face four of the top five sides away from home it will be difficult, but looking at the performances they were encouraging and brave," boss Roberto Martinez said.
"It will allow us to develop into a team who can go anywhere in the league and win."
"We have been able to get the points at home, and now it is very important we get as many we can in the final nine games of the season."
Before Martinez gets too enamoured with the prospect of trips abroad, the Spaniard might well speak to Alan Pardew - boss of Tuesday's opponents Newcastle United.
Pardew led his side into Europe - albeit the Europa League - two seasons ago and his squad struggled to cope with the twin demands of domestic and continental competition. It impacted on their league performance and resulted in a 16th place finish.
That slide has been arrested this season with the Magpies currently eighth, a position of safety, but Pardew insists there has been no let up from his players going into the final quarter of the campaign.
"Teams normally hit 40 points and switch off but we haven't done that," he said. "We want to do our best for the best fans in the country."
