Johnson's club colleagues Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling could also start, while the likes of Ross Barkley, Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez will be hoping for a chance to impress.
Injuries to Phil Jagielka and Phil Jones mean Chris Smalling and Gary Cahill should start at centre-half, but Baines will not be involved as Cole and Shaw will feature at left-back.

Denmark coach Olsen will hand Christian Eriksen a late fitness test to determine whether the Tottenham midfielder will feature at Wembley.
Olsen has assured Spurs that Eriksen won't be risked unless he is 100 per cent fit, but Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is likely to start for Denmark.
Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel, Liverpool defender Daniel Agger and Fulham midfielder William Kvist are also tipped to be involved from the kick-off.
